MCOBA Weekend 2009 - Balik Kolet
April 25, 2009

a-blog-obw-01

When we came back from Indonesia, we drove straight to Kuala Kangsar to attend The Malay College Old Boys weekend, 2009.  This is the time for us (old boys) who are still 17 years old at heart trapped in aging body to recall all those enjoyable moments we had  back then.

I had my wife to join me and we stayed at Kota Lama Kanan, with frequent visit to Rumah Pakcik for the delightful ikan keli goreng.

Enjoy the picts.

From left : Kerel, Bhita, Fugu (or Fuhu as my wife said hehehe), Fei and Kydin. The class of ‘97.

Football game between the Old Boys and present boys. Walking on the right was Yasser Arafat (Class of 2001). He shouldn’t be walking, waiting for the ball. Find some space boy. The Old Boys scored once and the young ones couldn’t get anywhere near the penalty box. Kesian diorang.

It was very clear that the referree  was on the present boys’ side. They stood together most of the time on the side line. Even if we’ve been smacked face down to the earth, he would just indicate that it was a dive. Makan rumput le Yeop.

We can see the Cheering Boys from far away. One of the memorable tradition that I liked the most is to be able to stand together by the field, providing melodious roar which gave goosebumps even to the toughest MC All Blacks rugger. A vital part of the success of our Rugby/Football/Hockey team all these years was played by our Cheerleaders and the rest of the budak kolet. Unbeatable combination.

My wife and Fei’s wife. It’s amazing on how they can endure 2 days of ignorance from respective hubbies who were heavily-occupied with repeated stories originated way back from 1993 and still can smile for us. Marilah ke old boy weekend lagi hehehe.

Back in 1997, we only have one compulsory posing style that must be adhered by all Budak Kolet, which was ‘tengok langit’ instead of straight to the camera. It adds depth and character to the boys and increase the level of ‘machoness’ 10 times more. But this time, Shkib has come up with a different style which will give us the new look even the perut is way bigger than we thought.

Ahhhh the ‘tengok langit’ pose which Fei failed to execute.

Bergambar di depan Senior Common Room (Senior Comm). Banyak sejarah pahit manis kat sini. Camera dipetik oleh Munzir Fauzi (Class of ‘98)

This is my new compulsory shot. Us by the side of Overfloor (or overflow?). Selamat Tinggal Kuala. Actually kitorang tak pernah keluar dari Kolet. Just pergi kerja kejap mencari nafkah, then boleh balik Old Boy Weekend eheheh.

Isteriku datang ke Bintulu
April 9, 2009

a-blog-bintulu-april

Hujung minggu lepas, isteri saya datang melawat saya di Bintulu. Lama juga lah tidak berjumpa dengan dia. Terubat rasa rindu di hati.

Masa kami mula mula kahwin dulu, kompeni saya masih menyewakan hotel untuk saya di New World Suites.

Mengenang kembali memori kisah cinta hehehe.

Kami pergi ke City Point di Bintulu, menonton kisah Race to Witch Mountain. Saya memang minat The Rock encik Dwayne Johnson. And cerita pasal alien ni memang best.

Malam tu pula, kami menonton Los and Faun berbackgroundkan Manchester United vs Aston Villa. Tensen tgk game Man U sekarang ni. Asyik macam nak kalah je. Nasib baik menang jua akhirnye.

Namun cuti isteri saya tak panjang. Isnin je dah kena balik ke KL. Terasa sunyi kembali di Bintulu ini. InsyaAllah kalau rezeki ada, saya akan pulang for good hujung June ini. Amin.

To isteriku - 5 hari lagi kita pergi oversea yay!~~ Mari kita bersedia untuk bergembira di sana. Can’t wait. Selamat ber On Call dengan jayanye (tadi I call u, u tengah sambut baby, takut telefon termasuk ke dalam)

To ayah - Tahniah kerana menang di Bt Gantang and Bt Selambau. Takbirrrr.

To emak - Suhaila kata mak hebat di Forum Kementerian Kesihatan. Tengok lah sapa anak nye hehehe.

To akak - keep on blogging. daily updates untuk keadaan di ulu kelang. sungguh informatif dan lucu.

To adik - Selamat mengandung dengan jaya nye. Abang akan jadi pakcik berseri seri.

To Tikah - Amacam? seronok ke jadi cikgu Tadika? tak sangka Tikah boleh handle kanak kanak tadika.

To Kamil - jgn terlalu bermain DOTA. nanti akim terikut-ikut. Tahniah dapat 20A SPM. eh 20 ke 10?

To Mirah - Tak sangka sungguh adik mirah ni dah ada blog. anyway, rajin2 le Qiyamullail. ajak Akim sekali.

To Akim - Udah udah le berDOTA ngn Counter Strike. Balik nanti abang bawak laptop. Kita perang habis habisan.

To Opah - Jgn lupa makan ubat ye. Nanti abang balik, abang bawak ubat lagi.

Zulmaha and his wife picked me up for a roti canai outing that evening. We talked about photography for a while ande came up with this idea where we can make use of the nice warm evening sunlight for some portraiture. What struck me was his ability to approach strangers and asking permission to take their pictures. Some  frowned at his request and pretended as if nothing was happening. Some will be posing gladly for his lens. I took the opportunity and took a number of shots to get the flare and halo effect. Enjoy the picts.
