79Islah @Notice Insyirah remained static as we switched position. Photoshop? hahaha....her knee moved down an inch in pic w/ Mom.....(macam main "Spot the Difference" ajerr...) Salams Bro Islah Insyirah was sooooo tired of all the walking as sight seeing. That's why she didn't move. No amount of photoshop (based on my photoshop skill heheh) can do this.
Morning Walk at Dubai Creek
January 9, 2012
Woke up early in the morning to catch the activities of Dubai people. It was an interesting walk. The people apparently liked being photographed. And the morning view is simply breathtaking.
Distant view of Burj Khalifa from Deira side of the Creek. A good way to start the morning.
A worker carefully hold the packages on top of the piles, as the boxes were lowered by the crane,. The morning light adds character.
The dhows (boat) stationed at the creek. This is where Dubai merchants started their trading way back. Busy and colorful.
A worker walked past cans of paints stacked by the creek side. These are among the items harbored at the creek.
Taking his time to check sms on his mobile phone.
What a way to start the morning with a stick of cigarette. Hectic day ahead.
A man looked as he shouldered a box from the lorry. A heavy package it may seem.
Man on board the dhow waiting for instruction on the loading of the cargo.
Red Canvas
Three plus one. A shy one.
Having a good time on top of the roof of the upper deck.
A silhouette of workers waiting for goods inside a lorry.
A well dressed merchant checking the condition of his dhow.
After a tiring morning, 3 men sat on paper boards munching sunflower seed.
Dubai-London Part 1
January 8, 2012
Salam all.
It has been quite sometime since the last update appeared in this space.
Here are the first few frames from our Dubai London trip. Will continue to update regularly insyaAllah if time permitted.
(L) Beautiful decorations on the wall of Deira Riviera Hotel. We’ve stayed here for few days. The service was excellent. Absolute Dubai hospitality. (R) The reflection of the second tower of The Rolex Tower. There are apartments, gym, wellness centre as well as swimming pool on this tower.
(L) Balconies of apartments in Deira district. Most of them adorned the same color, the brownish desert sand, sort of. (R) The pavements near Dubai Creek.
(L) The three of us in front of the Riviera Hotel. Strategically located in front of the Dubai Creek, you can get anywhere around town with cab (plenty of them). Food was aplenty. (R) On of the green side of Dubai.
(L) The flags of UAE inside a machinery store. (R) Yours truly waiting for Chicken Shawarma.
(L) Decorated lamps are part of the desert ambiance inside most building in Dubai. (R) The sun shone against the building of Deira district at dawn.
Our niece(s), Najiha (front), Shasha and Qistina (back)
(L) Beautiful facade of one of the building located a block down our hotel area. (R) Shasha and Qistina was greeted by an unknown man in front of the hotel. He carried both of them chatted and posed for portraits.
(L) Kak Wati, Wifey, Insyirah, Najiha, Shasha and Haikal sitting in front of Dubai Creek. (R) A strong character of lines, shapes and tones of a building in Deira. A bit distracting in term of composition. Made me feel drowsy looking at it.
Dubai is a Muslim town, thus food was not much of a problem. The breakfast buffet served by the hotel was decent. Enough to give you energy for a long day outside. Wifey was waiting for Insyirah who was running everywhere during breakfast.
